Known as the Million Dollar Wreck for the cargo she went down with. The deck sits at about 48 m and the bottom at 63, so this is a decompression dive on every plan and a trimix dive on most of them. The three Type 95 tanks lashed to the foredeck are the photograph people cross the Pacific for; below them the holds hold trucks, aircraft engines, mines and fuel drums. Bottom time is short, narcosis is real at the depth the tanks sit, and divers have died here. Nothing about this is a first Chuuk dive, and no operator should sell it as one.
Fly to Chuuk (Weno) via Guam. Technical operators and liveaboards run it; most recreational day boats will not.

Before you get in
- Going inside a wreck is an overhead environment: silt can take the visibility in seconds, and there is entanglement. Swimming the outside of it is a different dive.
- Deeper than recreational limits. It carries a decompression obligation and gas planning, and is not a dive to plan without that training.
Taken from this site’s recorded depth, type and current, and nothing else. An empty list is not a safe site — the sea on the day, the local geography and the boat traffic are not in it. The briefing on the spot comes first.
