Where our data comes from

Every number on this site carries its source and the time it describes. If we cannot attribute a value, we do not show it — a blank field means we do not know, not that the answer is zero.

Forecast model output, not a measurement at the dive site itself. Treat it as an indication of the general area.

Natural Earthwww.naturalearthdata.com

Downloaded at three scales, simplified here and served from this site. No tile provider. The coarsest edition averages about 230 km a segment, and finer ones take over as you zoom in.

NASA Blue Marblevisibleearth.nasa.gov

The 2004 Blue Marble composite, bathymetry included, served from here: the whole world in one 2,560-pixel file, and a pyramid of tiles beneath it that goes to 2.4 km a pixel as you zoom in. Only the tiles you are looking at are fetched and held. Even at its sharpest this is a picture of a sea and not a plan of a bay. No tile provider.

What this data does not tell you

Nothing on BubbleSong Diving World decides whether a dive is safe. Conditions shown here are modelled or reported, may be hours old, and can differ sharply from what you find at the surface. Your own assessment, your guide, your training and your certification limits come first, always.

Gaps

Many dive sites have no provider coverage at all. Rather than filling those pages with estimates, we leave them empty until a diver reports conditions or a source we can attribute becomes available.
