Terms of use

Last updated 2026-09-15

The rules for using BubbleSong Diving World. Short, and in plain language, because terms nobody reads are terms nobody follows. Using the site means these apply to you.

Diving safety — read this one

Nothing on BubbleSong Diving World decides whether a dive is safe. Not the depths, not the conditions, not the forecasts, not what another diver wrote about a site last week.

Everything here is information about a place, and information about a place is not a briefing. Forecasts are model output for a general area, not a measurement at the site, and they can be hours old and sharply wrong. A condition report is what one person saw at one time. A site description is what it is usually like, not what it is like today.

Your own assessment, your guide, your buddy, your training and your certification limits come first, always. Dive within them. If what you find at the surface does not match what you read here, believe the water.

We do not verify that anyone is certified, or that a shop is competent, or that a site is suitable for you. Diving carries a risk of injury and death that no website removes.

Your account

You need to be at least 14 to have an account. One account per person.

You sign in with a one-time link or with Google, so there is no password to lose. Keep access to your email and to that Google account, because whoever has them has your account. You can see and end every signed-in session in settings.

Your username is public and permanent once claimed — other divers come to know you by it and links point at it.

Say true things about yourself. Certification agency and level in particular: other divers use them to decide whether to dive with you, and a false claim there is not a harmless exaggeration.

What you write and upload

It stays yours. We do not claim ownership of your dives, your photographs or your posts.

You give us permission to store and display them as the service needs — which means showing them to exactly the people your visibility settings allow, and no wider.

Upload only what is yours to upload. Someone else's photograph is theirs.

A few contributions become part of the map rather than part of your profile: a dive site you add, a name you propose for one, a group dive other divers attach their own logs to. Those stay if you delete your account, without your name on them, because other people depend on them by then. Everything else goes with you.

What you may not do

The short list, and we enforce it.

  • Harass, threaten or abuse another diver.
  • Give advice you know to be dangerous — depth, gas, decompression or otherwise.
  • Pretend to be someone else, or to hold a certification you do not hold.
  • Post a dive site that is not one, or coordinates you have made up.
  • Advertise in places that are not for it, or post the same thing repeatedly.
  • Scrape the site, or use it through anything other than a browser at a normal human pace.
  • Try to reach data you were not shown, or work around a visibility setting.

Dive shops

Anyone can register a shop, and a shop page exists before anyone has checked it. Until it is verified it is not listed and not indexed, and it says so on the page.

A shop is responsible for what it publishes — its own description, its tours, its departures and its prices. We are not a party to anything you book with a shop, and we do not take payment.

Linking a dive site to a shop claims nothing about that site. Several shops dive the same places.

Reviews

Review a shop only if you actually dived with them. One review per shop, and you can change or withdraw yours at any time.

Nobody who works at a shop may review it. That is enforced, not requested.

Say what happened. A review that describes your experience is useful even when it is critical; a review that invents one is removed.

Reports and what we do about them

Anything a person wrote can be reported, and every decision is recorded.

Moderation removes; it does not rewrite. We will take something down, and we will not edit your words to say something you did not say.

An account that keeps breaking the rules above can be suspended. If that happens you can still export your data.

Availability

This is a service under active development. Things change, features appear and are withdrawn, and it will occasionally be down.

We keep backups of the database, but you should keep your own copy of anything you would be upset to lose. "Download my data" in settings gives you what the account holds in one file — and for each photograph, the address to download it from rather than the picture itself. If the photographs are what you would miss, save those separately.

Where our responsibility ends

We are responsible for running the service honestly and for keeping your data as this policy and the privacy policy describe.

We are not responsible for what happens in the water, for what another diver or a shop tells you, for decisions you make using information on this site, or for losses that follow indirectly from using it.

Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit — including our own intent or gross negligence, and any right you have as a consumer.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time, from settings, and it takes effect immediately. Download your data first if you want to keep it.

We can close an account that breaks these terms. We will say why.

Which law applies

The law of the Republic of Korea, and the courts of the Republic of Korea, unless the law where you live gives you the right to your own courts — in which case it does.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that affects you, the new version appears here with a new date before it takes effect.
