Chumphon is a set of granite pinnacles topping out around 14 m and falling to sand at 36. The main rock is surrounded by anemone and covered in schooling fish; big-eye trevally and barracuda hold above it and whale sharks turn up most years between March and May. Koh Tao certifies more divers than almost anywhere in the world, so the site is busy — an early boat is worth the alarm.
