Lankan is a set of cleaning stations at 12 to 15 m on the edge of a channel in North Malé. Through the southwest monsoon — roughly May to November — the current pushes plankton across the reef and mantas queue at the bommies, sometimes a dozen at once. Divers settle on sand well back. The rest of the year the mantas move to the other side of the atoll, which is the pattern the whole Maldives season follows.
Dhoni from North Malé resorts, 10 to 30 minutes depending on the island.
