A patch of sand and scattered coral heads inside Tanapag Lagoon, in 10 to 18 m of flat, sheltered water. Spotted eagle rays come in to be cleaned and to feed, sometimes singly and sometimes in loose groups of a dozen. Being inside the reef means almost no current and visibility that holds up when the outside of the island is blown out, which makes this the fallback everyone is glad to have. The rays are skittish: divers who settle on the sand and wait see them, divers who swim at them watch them leave.
Twenty minutes by boat from Smiling Cove or Garapan, inside Tanapag Lagoon.
