Most walls start deep. This one starts at about 6 m, which is the whole character of it: you cross a sand shelf in the shallows, arrive at a lip you could stand on, and the bottom simply stops — the drop below goes past two thousand metres. Because the top is so shallow the dive is long and unhurried, and the light at the lip is what photographers come for. Barrel sponges, rope sponge and black coral grow out of the face from the first few metres down. Visibility is routinely 30 m and often more, current is usually mild, and the whole bay is a marine park.
Ten minutes by boat from the resorts on Little Cayman’s north shore; fly via Grand Cayman.

Before you get in
- Past 30 m, where no-stop time and gas both go quickly and nitrogen narcosis starts to show.
- A wall. There is no bottom in sight to judge against, so depth is kept by the gauge alone — and it is easy to end up deeper than intended.
Taken from this site’s recorded depth, type and current, and nothing else. An empty list is not a safe site — the sea on the day, the local geography and the boat traffic are not in it. The briefing on the spot comes first.
