Homigot is the hook of land that gives Pohang its name, and the Tsushima current runs straight past it — so the water is a couple of degrees warmer than Gangwon and the southern fish reach further north here than anywhere else on the east coast. Shallow granite and boulder from 6 to 22 m, easy entries, and enough nudibranchs on the rock to make it a macro dive if the visibility is poor. It is an hour from a KTX station, which for a Seoul diver makes it the closest real sea diving there is.
KTX to Pohang, then 40 minutes by road to the cape. Shops run shore and boat dives from Guryongpo.
