Manta rays visit cleaning stations here year round, in only 5–15 m of water. The site is exposed to open ocean swell and the surge close to the wall is significant — the discomfort, not the depth, is what makes it intermediate. Water is noticeably colder than the rest of Bali. Boats run from Sanur and from Nusa Penida itself.
Fast boat from Sanur to Nusa Penida, then around the south coast by dive boat.
