Deep Dive Dubai holds 14 million litres at 30 °C and goes to 60 m — deeper than any other pool anywhere. The shallows are an abandoned apartment, a library and an arcade; below that it opens into a shaft with caves off it, and fifty-six cameras watch the whole volume. For freedivers it is a 60 m line with no current, no cold and a safety team at every depth, which is a rare combination anywhere and unavailable in open water for most of the year here. Nothing lives in it; it is filtered fresh water.
Nad Al Sheba, Dubai — 20 minutes from Downtown. Sessions are booked and a check dive is required.
Best season
- Excellent
Before you get in
- A cavern — inside the daylight zone, but still with a ceiling, and with stretches where you cannot simply go up.
- Deeper than recreational limits. It carries a decompression obligation and gas planning, and is not a dive to plan without that training.
Taken from this site’s recorded depth, type and current, and nothing else. An empty list is not a safe site — the sea on the day, the local geography and the boat traffic are not in it. The briefing on the spot comes first.
